Terms of Use
Effective date: October 12, 2026 · Leer en español
1. Who we are
Hestia Interpreting is operated by Weidmar Pelaez Chica, a sole proprietor domiciled in Cali, Colombia, while the company is being formed. Contact: weidmar@hestiainterpreting.com.
2. What these terms cover
These terms apply to this website (hestiainterpreting.com) and to our portal for staff and interpreters (portal.hestiainterpreting.com). They do not replace any signed agreement. Assignments, fees and duties between Hestia Interpreting and an agency or an interpreter are governed by the signed agreement between them and, when health information is involved, by the business associate agreement. If these terms and a signed agreement differ, the signed agreement prevails.
3. Requests and applications
Sending the request form asks us for an interpreter; an assignment is booked only when we confirm it in writing. Applying to our network does not create a contract and does not guarantee any assignment.
4. Portal accounts
Portal accounts are personal. Keep your password and your two-step verification private, and tell us right away at weidmar@hestiainterpreting.com if you think someone else used your account. We may suspend an account to protect the information in the portal.
45 CFR 164.308(a)(5)(ii)(D) and 164.312(d).
5. Health information and confidentiality
Appointment details in the portal can be protected health information. Use them only to perform the assignment, as your business associate agreement says, and do not copy, forward or keep them outside the portal beyond what the assignment requires.
45 CFR 164.502(b) and 164.504(e).
6. Acceptable use
Do not try to access information or accounts that are not yours, test or overload our systems, introduce malicious code, collect data from the site with automated tools, or use the site for anything unlawful.
18 U.S.C. §1030; Colombian Law 1273 of 2009, arts. 269A–269F.
7. Privacy
How we handle personal information, and how to see, correct or delete yours, is explained in our Privacy Policy.
8. Our content and open-source software
The text, logo and design of this site belong to Hestia Interpreting. The open-source components we use are provided under their own licenses, listed in our open-source notices.
9. Availability and liability
We work to keep the site and the portal available and accurate, but we cannot promise they will always be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages that come only from using the website. Nothing in these terms limits a right that the law gives you and that cannot be waived, or what a signed agreement says.
Colombian Law 1480 of 2011, art. 43.
10. Changes
We post changes on this page with a new effective date. If a change is substantial, we tell portal users by email before it applies.
